    • December 23, 2010 Purchase of Storage and Loading Facility Closes.The team of business and real estate lawyers at The Strong Firm recently closed the acquisition of a facility in Illinois for a world-wide logistics and distribution company. The transaction included complicated options, access and loading easements and agreement and ongoing operational contracts associated with transition of the facility for our client’s use.

    • September 24, 2010 – The Strong Firm Represents Local Developer in Sale of Five Medical Buildings in The Woodlands – The Strong Firm represented a local medical building developer in the sale of five building near or on the medical campuses of Memorial Herman and St. Luke’s in The Woodlands to a national real estate development trust traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

 

  • September 16, 2010 Strong Firm Presents at “How to Invest and Establish Yourself in Texas – Informational Seminar for New and Future Residents and Investors.” – Joe Griffin and Eric Thiergood represented The Strong Firm and The Woodlands Home Finder Center during an informational seminar for new and future residents and investors in The Woodlands, Texas area, “How to Invest and Establish Yourself in Texas.” Mr. Griffin presented on behalf of the firm discussing corporate law and choice of entity issues to consider as one seeks to create and establish a local business or subsidiary and the effect this decision has on other legal considerations relevant to seminar participants.

    • September 1, 2010 The Strong Firm helps Texas entity gain Oman approval for Oil Exploration. – The Strong Firm assists Texas corporation in gaining the approval necessary to become incorporated in the country of Oman. The Omani incorporation is necessary for the exploration of oil in the Omani area.
    • September 2010 – The Strong Firm represents Buyer in the purchase, financing and development of two Texas office condo developments in the Woodlands and Longview, Texas. – The Strong Firm, P.C. has had the privilege of serving as buyer’s counsel in the purchase and financing of two office-condominium facilities. The firm, in its position as lead counsel on these transactions, has also represented the client in preparing the Declaration of Condominium, formation of the non-profit condominium owners association, tax abatement agreement, drafting and negotiation of the condo purchase and sale documents, as well as drafting and negotiating the contractor agreement for the development of the complex.
    • August 31, 2010 – The Strong Firm represents independent oil and gas company in renegotiation of a $12,750,000.00 credit facility. – The Strong Firm P.C. recently represented an independent oil and gas client in the renegotiation and closing of a complex $12,750,000.00 credit facility. The firm, serving as the borrower’s counsel, was able to successfully guide the client through the renegotiation process and ensure that the client’s interests were protected under the renegotiated credit facility. Last month, the Strong Firm P.C. represented an affiliate of this client in a similar renegotiation and closing of a $300,000,000.00 credit facility.

    • April 1, 2010 — Strong Firm PC represents client in sale of multi–million dollar shopping center sale. – The Strong Firm represented the Seller in the sale of a multi-million dollar retail shopping center located in The Woodlands. The firm was involved in the original purchase of the land from the Woodlands Land Development Company and had drafted the contracts for development and leasing of the shopping center over the years. The Strong Firm negotiated this complex deal on behalf of the Seller and successfully closed on the transaction on April 1st.

  • February 20, 2010 — Joe Griffin of The Strong Firm judges at debate tournament at Oak Ridge North High School. – The 2010 Middle School Semi-Annual Debate Tournament held at Oak Ridge High School offered a variety of events in debate, public speaking, interpretation, and drama for both middle school teams and individuals. This tournament also featured Parliamentary Debate for the first time. Joe Griffin of The Strong Firm served as a volunteer Judge for middle school teams in the Parliamentary Debate competition where students addressed issues such as the extent of US and UN involvement in the global protection of human rights. The students were all very well prepared and the tournament was a huge success.

 

    • February 17, 2010 — Bret Strong Presents “Connecting With Clients In The Woodlands.” – Bret Strong will be presenting on behalf of the South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce from 8:30-10:00 a.m. a free seminar on connecting with clients in The Woodlands, Texas.   • January 2010 — The Strong Firm Welcomes Joe Griffin. – The firm has announced the recent addition of D. Joe Griffin as a Law Clerk, with the intent to become an Associate Attorney with the firm pending his graduation from The University of Houston Law Center and passage of the July 2010 bar exam.   • January 2010 — The Strong Firm Sponsors United Way Breakfast With Champions. – On January 19, 2010, at the Carlton Woods Clubhouse the second annual United Way “Breakfast with Champions” was held sponsored by The Strong Firm P.C. under the leadership of Bret Strong, the Chairman of the Lonestar Leaders of the Campaign. The event raised $20,000 to go toward the $3.7 million 2009-2010 Montgomery County United Way campaign goal.
