Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to each attorney at the firm in support of all practice areas utilizing the firm’s tools, technology, and coordination of tasks through appropriate team members as necessary to provide exceptional client service firmwide, keeping the pipeline moving and team members on task.
- Maintain excellent understanding of legal procedures, terminology, and industry standards.
- Oversee status of all active matters, working alongside appropriate team members to update CRM regularly and establishing tasks and meetings to keep workflows active and progressing.
- Oversee litigation docket and manage litigation calendaring; monitor and ensure compliance with various deadlines related to preparations for litigation events.
- Oversee communications and filings with all court jurisdictions.
- Gather, organize, and/or prepare various legal documents, such as petitions, answers, discovery, pleadings, estate plans, demand letters, contracts, and briefs, following the firm’s established protocols and policies for the same regarding document saving and retention.
- Meet with attorneys and team members regularly to verify progress and ensure client needs are being met with exceptional service.
- Conduct initial research and analysis as requested by attorneys.
- Act as witness to client will signings.
- Notarize documents.
- Assist in answering firm’s multiline phone system, taking detailed notes/messages and directing as appropriate; initial screening of incoming potential clients.
- Provide strong and timely management of a very active practice with a “high touch” approach for a client base that expects a value-added relationship and timely responses.
- Involvement in firm activities and community activities to build relationships externally.
Primary Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a professional office setting.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a litigation/transactional paralegal.
- Strong understanding of litigation terms and procedures.
- Must possess an excellent ability to maintain organization, attention to detail, and expertise in time management with a heavy case load.
- Must be a team player.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) is preferred.
Office Environment:
- This is an in-office, full-time position (office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM; some after hours, holiday, and weekend availability may be required with notice).
- Dress code is business professional.
