- July 6, 2010 – Bret Strong Presents to Montgomery County CPA Forum “The Basics of Entity Selection in Texas. Bret Strong of The Strong Firm presented information to this local group of certified public accountants detailing the issues and concerns when forming entities in the State of Texas.

Bret Strong hosted a special reception honoring Governor Rick Perry. The reception was held at The Blair House, home of Jim Blair and Nelda Luce Blair in The Woodlands. Governor Perry discussed the book he is writing entitled "Fed Up", thanked State Senator Tommy Williams, State Representative Rob Eissler and State Representative Brandon Creighton (all in attendance) for their support over the years and spoke on the plan for his campaign for a third term as Governor of the State of Texas.

For the fourth straight year, The Strong Firm sponsored the Long Drive Competition at the South Montgomery County Chamber's Annual Golf Classic. The Golf Classic was held on 27 holes of the Palmer Golf Course at The Woodlands Country Club. Winners of the Long Drive Competition, held on the 3rd hole of the King won $100 gift certificates to Hubbell & Hudson.

The Strong Firm is pleased to announce the addition of Alicia Lightsey to the firm. Ms. Lightsey is a highly skilled paralegal and legal assistant who earned her paralegal certificate with Honors in 2006. Ms. Lightsey joins the firm with experience in both transactional and litigation matters.
- May 1, 2010 — The Strong Firm PC sponsors CB&I Triathlon. The Strong Firm was a proud sponsor of the 7th Annual CB&I TRI - The Woodlands Triathlon. The triathlon was held at Northshore Park in The Woodlands, and is on one of the premier multi–sport events in the region, sanctioned by USA Triathlon. The triathlon is produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department and featured a field of 1,000 participants.

The Strong Firm is an official sponsor of the Muddy Trails 5k/10K race on April 3rd at Rob Fleming Park. The race winds through George Mitchell Nature Preserve in the Village of Creekside Park. All proceeds from the race go to benefit The Woodlands Township recreation programming, that serves The Woodlands through the promotion of health and well-being.

The Strong Firm represented the Seller in the sale of a multi-million dollar retail shopping center located in The Woodlands. The firm was involved in the original purchase of the land from the Woodlands Land Development Company and had drafted the contracts for development and leasing of the shopping center over the years. The Strong Firm negotiated this complex deal on behalf of the Seller and successfully closed on the transaction on April 1st.
- March 31, 2010 — The Strong Firm represents a national oil and gas company in a $25 Million Deal. The Strong Firm represented a national oil and gas company as borrower in renegotiating and memorializing an amendment and restatement of credit facilities.
- March 25, 2010 — Melissa Proctor of The Strong Firm nominated as WBA Vice President of Membership. Melissa Proctor was nominated by the Woodlands Bar Association’s Nominating Committee for re-election as the Woodlands Bar Association’s Vice President of Membership. Elections are to be held at the WBA’s Annual Meeting on April 8, 2010, at Guri Do Sul.

- March 6, 2010 — The Strong Firm Finish Line Sponsor for Spring Fever 5K. The Strong Firm was a Finish Line Sponsor for the annual Spring Fever 5K Race held on March 6, 2010 at Grogan’s Point Park. Proceeds from the race benefits Montgomery County Humane Society, Montgomery County Women’s Center, Montgomery County Youth Services, and The Woodlands Recreation Center.

Cooley Law School in Lansing Michigan. The internship is the final piece of Ms. Nazareth's curriculum prior to her anticipated law school graduation in August 2010. Ms. Nazareth is an officer in Phi Alpha Delta and a member of the Business Law Society.
- February 28, 2010 — The Strong Firm voted Woodlands Online “Best of The Woodlands”. The Strong Firm was voted #1 by the registered users of Woodlands Online in the category of Best Attorney, Lawyer & Legal Services in The Woodlands, by an online poll. The poll was established to determine the “Best of The Woodlands” in a broad range of categories.

The Strong Firm was a proud sponsor of the 24th Annual Economic Outlook Conference titled “It’s All About the Economy” held on February 26, 2010. The EOC, presented by Jefferson Wells and the South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce, provided individuals with the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the projected growth of Montgomery County and surrounding regional economies. Distinguished speakers at the EOC were U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady and Larry Kellner, past Chairman and CEO of Continental Airlines.

After a competitive bidding process involving firms of all sizes throughout the area (Houston and Montgomery County), The Strong Firm was awarded a 3-year exclusive contract by The Woodlands Township to provide legal services in the areas of covenant administration, parks and pathways, and general issues The Strong Firm successfully handled the transition of real property, contracts, and assets from The Community Associations of The Woodlands to the Woodlands Township throughout 2009 which made it a strong contender in the bid process. Notably, The Strong Firm was the top selection amongst staff for award of the contract.

The 2010 Middle School Semi-Annual Debate Tournament held at Oak Ridge High School offered a variety of events in debate, public speaking, interpretation, and drama for both middle school teams and individuals. This tournament also featured Parliamentary Debate for the first time. Joe Griffin of The Strong Firm served as a volunteer Judge for middle school teams in the Parliamentary Debate competition where students addressed issues such as the extent of US and UN involvement in the global protection of human rights. The students were all very well prepared and the tournament was a huge success.
- February 25, 2010 — Bret Strong Presents “The Basics of Entity Selection in Texas” to The Woodlands Bar Association - Bret Strong will present a continuing legal education seminar on the basic decision-making process for client’s creating an entity in Texas at lunch at Jaspers Restaurant in The Woodlands. Participants will learn the questions to ask and the benefits associated with each type of entity available in Texas.

The firm has announced the recent addition of D. Joe Griffin as a Law Clerk, with the intent to become an Associate Attorney with the firm pending his graduation from The University of Houston Law Center and passage of the July 2010 bar exam. His practice areas will include general corporate and commercial transactions, commercial real estate, trademark and trade name filings, corporate controversy work, and coordination of immigration matters associated with local investment and business opportunities.

Eric is fluent in Spanish and has a growing practice serving the corporate needs of our Hispanic business community.

The event raised $20,000 to go toward the $3.7 million 2009-2010 Montgomery County United Way campaign goal. Houston Channel 13’s sportscaster Tim Melton along with former Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns football star Gerald Irons hosted 7 celebrity sports champions (Jim Deshaies, Tory James, Matt Bullard, Laura Wilkinson, Doug Drabek, Bill Fitch and Michael Bishop) to have breakfast with local donors in support of the Montgomery County United Way.

December 2009 — The Strong Firm Donates to United Way 50 Free Skate Nights For Big Brothers/Big Sisters. - Montgomery County United Way President Julie Martineau receives 100 tickets for The Woodlands Ice Skating Rink presented by Bret Strong of The Strong Firm Attorneys. This marks the second year, The Strong Firm has given tickets to MCUW. Big Brothers Big Sisters, a MCUW Funded Partner will receive this year's tickets.
- December 2009 — The Strong Firm Cooks up Meal at Viking Cooking School For Local Family - The Strong Firm held its annual holiday celebration at the Viking Cooking School and Hubbell & Hudson, with its staff and friends preparing a holiday feast for a local family. The meal was delivered that evening to a local single mother undergoing cancer treatment while parenting two teenage boys.
- December 2009 — Bret Strong Named People Scene "2010 Person of the Year" - Bret Strong, Managing Partner of The Strong Firm will be featured as one of the People Scene's 2010 People of the Year. "It is an honor to be named one of the People of the Year," noted Bret. "In the twenty plus years of living in The Woodlands, I have been honored to serve many organizations and see much accomplished. It is truly a privilege to be a part of such an incredible community and I appreciate the opportunity to recognition"
- November 2009 — The Strong Firm selected as finalist for Small Business of the Year for Lone Star College - Montgomery. Each year the Lone Star College System recognizes successful small businesses that make an impact on the local community. The Strong Firm P.C. has been selected as one of the three finalists for the Lone Star College – Montgomery.
