The founder and managing shareholder of The Strong Firm P.C., Bret has been a resident and an active community leader in The Woodlands, Texas for over 20 years.  He spent 11 years with Shell Oil Company in areas of contracting, finance, and information services prior to becoming licensed in the legal field and establishing his practice in The Woodlands.  Bret enjoys participating in all sorts of outdoor sporting activities, including skiing, running, biking, and swimming.  He competes in triathlons and is a two-time Ironman triathlon finisher.

Eric R. Thiergood, Sr.

Eric joined The Strong Firm, P.C. in 2005 as a law clerk and became an associate in May 2007.  Thiergood received his Juris Doctorate from the South Texas College of Law and is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in the United States Federal District and Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.  Having lived in Asturias, Oropesa Del Mar, and Madrid, Spain, Eric is fluent in Spanish and uses this skill in his work with some of the firm's international Spanish-speaking clients.

Joe Griffin

Law Clerk

Joe started at The Strong Firm, P.C. in 2009 as a summer law clerk and returned to the firm in January of 2010 as a full-time clerk. He has plans on becoming an Associate with the firm in November upon passing the Texas Bar Exam and obtaining his license to practice in The State of Texas. He finished his 3L year at the University of Houston Law Center in May of 2010 where served as the Publications Editor for the Houston Journal of International Law and President of the student chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. Joe has also been an active participant in student chapters of the Federalist Society as their Director of External Affairs, and the Hispanic Law Students Association. Having lived in Córdoba, La Rioja, and Villa Dolores, Argentina, as well as in Mexico City D.F. while serving as a law clerk for the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores (SRE), Joe is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Portuguese and once licensed plans to develop a business and investor immigration practice area at the firm

Alicia Lightsey

Paralegal

Alicia joined The Strong Firm, P.C. in May, 2010 and quickly became our full time paralegal in July, 2010. Lightsey graduated Phi Theta Kappa with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Paralegal Studies in May, 2006 from San Jacinto College North, an American Bar Association approved paralegal program.

Rachel is originally from Rhode Island and recently moved to Texas with her husband to whom she was married this past August in Newport, Rhode Island.
